Hi! I’m Sherry. I’m a Doctor of Osteopathy, a certified athletic therapist, a health and life coach from Montreal, the host of the Fall in Love with Fitness Podcast, and the creator of the HIIT Decks™️ App. And I’ve been in this space for almost 25 years.

I actually got into health and fitness kinda by accident. When I was a kid, I was that annoying tom boy, always trying to “out push-up” and run faster than the boys. And by the time I got to high school, I was a varsity athlete.

UNTIL THE DAY – JUST SHORT OF MY 17TH BIRTHDAY – I GOT HIT BY A CAR AND PERMANENTLY DAMAGED MY SPINE.

I needed an emergency back surgery and was given what I thought felt like a death sentence: no more sports for the rest of my life.

I listened to my doctor’s advice, and found myself spiraling – I had become a completely different person. My whole life was centred around my back pain.

Until one day, I had this ah-ha moment as Oprah calls it. Against my doctor’s advice, I decided to get strong again. So I signed up at my local gym, and showed up every day. I had no clue what the heck I was doing, but what I noticed was that my back pain was starting to go away. And I was able to stop my pain meds.

And that’s when I dropped out of my Master’s in chemistry and dove deep into a new field to learn about movement, fitness, injury and of course nutrition.

My logic was to find the “right way to eat” so I can help people transform their health too!

And that’s when it all started going downhill again.

FIRST, I STARTED THE LOW FAT DIET. THEN CALORIE COUNTING. THEN I HEARD ABOUT THIS ATKINS DUDE WHO SAID FATS WERE GOOD AND CARBS WEREN’T. AND THEN, I HEARD WE WERE SUPPOSED TO EAT LIKE A CAVE MAN. THEN IT WAS KETO. THE ZONE. MACROS. AND FINALLY VEGAN.

I was so confused. My rules kept changing each week. I was fearing food and socializing because of it.

And worst of all, I had secretly developed a binge eating behaviour. Of course, I thought it was just “cheat day.” But it always left me so guilty, and shameful, bloated, and beyond disappointed in myself. I had created a completely disordered relationship with food.

And no amount of meal prepping, rules, discipline, or accountability could get me stop. It actually kept making it worse.

But they say things happen for you and not to you.
